In 2016, Carolyn Harris MP launched the Everyone Deserves a Christmas campaign to bring a little festive cheer to less fortunate members of the community.

It proved to be a huge success, and the Labour MP for Swansea East soon extended the boundaries to distribute thousands of food parcels around south Wales every year. In more recent times, the frequency has also been expanded to include Easter, too.

The lcv group has been lending a hand - and a few vans - since those early days, and we were more than happy to get involved again for Easter 2024, with our staff donating their time to load up vehicles and drop off the goodies.

Carolyn Harris MP said: "The Everyone Deserves project has been helping families in Swansea and the surrounding areas since 2016 – providing hampers to those who might otherwise go without at Christmas and Easter and supporting communities in the summer with lunch clubs and other activities.

"This Easter more than 400 hampers were delivered to families across Swansea, Neath, Aberavon, Blaenau Gwent and Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney. We also provided thousands of seasonal chocolate treats to community groups, sports clubs, and children’s centres.  

"None of this could happen without the ongoing support of local businesses and volunteers who give up their time to unload vans, pack up hampers and drive round making deliveries. The dedication from everyone to help those that need it in our communities is heartwarming.

"The lcv group are always one of our biggest supporters, offering to help wherever they can. This Easter, they went the extra mile, sourcing additional vans and drivers at the last minute to help make some final deliveries. I cannot thank the team enough for their support and I look forward to having them on board again for Everyone Deserves a Summer and Everyone Deserves a Christmas later this year."

This year, six members of the team joined in with the packing, and then hit the road in three vans to deliver the supplies.

Among them were Jordan Brennan, accounts assistant, and Jodie Williams, marketing assistant (pictured above with Carolyn Harris MP and our branded Volkswagen ID.Buzz).

Jodie said: "It's my second year volunteering for Everyone Deserves an Easter and I am so grateful and honoured to be part of it. From packing the boxes to delivering them to people in need was such a wholesome experience. I’m so glad the team and I could help such an amazing cause and we can’t wait to help next year!"

Also helping out were Elliott Gardner, IT and digital marketing manager, and Brandon Cleaver, pricing analyst (pictured above).

Brandon said: "It was a truly fantastic and fulfilling day. It felt great to be able to help out in the community for those most in need."
